FAQ
Why do I need counselling?
Counselling can help you navigate life's challenges, improve your mental well-being, develop coping strategies and enhance self-awareness and personal growth.
What types of counselling services do you provide?
I provide individual and couple services tailored to address a wide range of personal and relational issues.
Do you accept NDIS participants?
Yes, if you are self-managed or plan-managed, you can use your Capacity Building funding. I currently do not accommodate NDIA participants.
Do you offer Medicare rebates for counselling services?
Unfortunately counselling services are not covered under Medicare.
How many sessions are typically recommended for counselling?
The number of sessions recommended varies based on individual needs and goals. You might need two sessions, you might need more! I will work with you to create a personalised plan.
Are you accredited ?
Yes, I am accredited with ACA and hold a Diploma of Counselling with expertise and experience in providing counselling services.
Do you offer online counselling sessions for those unable to attend in person?
Yes I offer online counselling to accommodate clients who prefer remote sessions or face logistical constraints.
Do I need a referral?
As counselling is outside the Medicare system, no referral from a GP is required.
How long is the session?
All sessions are 60 minutes.
What will happen in the first session?
At the first session, we will go through the Counselling Services Agreement together. This document outlines the terms of our work together and ensures that we are aligned in our goals and commitments. We will also discuss the information you provided in the New Client Intake Form to better understand your needs and goals, and explore how we can work together to help you achieve positive outcomes and provide the support you need.
Is this a confidential service?
I take your confidentiality very seriously and operate within the ACA Code of Ethics
I would only consider sharing your information if there is a concern for your safety or the well-being of others, or if it is legally required by court order.
In such cases, I will always have a conversation with you beforehand to discuss any potential disclosure of your confidential information.
Your confidentiality and trust is extremely valued in my counselling sessions.
